Enjoyed it a lot in the past but hasn't been updated for years. Out of support now, the follow-up for this is StudioOne. https://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-One

Yes it is, 32Bit effects of course. If they don't show up as bare, use Acon Effect Chainer.

Mix your 10 tracks down to a wave file. Bring it back in on a single track and add more tracks.

By the way, I've used this DAW once before, several years ago (2009)... I recorded a band at rehearsal, live, using a Fostex VF16 with four SM58 mics, and two RadioShak PZM bounday mics, placed around the room in stereo fashion, with the PZM boundary mics on the floor Left and Right of the drums close to the kit, excellent capture of the kit. The SM58 mics (one for bass amp, the other for the guitar amp) captured the amps nicely, with minimal bleeding between the live tracks. I then exported the session to my PC via the USB on the Fostex, and loaded the session into Krystal where I could clean up the sound without too much processing. The results were impressive for a raw live recording... burned the mix to an audio CD for playback in a car stereo: sounded close to a live studio performance. I'm an amateur Home-Recording enthusiast, so I recommend Krystal for those of you who want something simple but good for this DAW.

Okay, get ready for the DUMBEST QUESTION EV-VERRR: Can instrument tracks be bounced in this DAW to free up tracks for more instruments and sounds? (I realize this DAW only has ten tracks, which is enough for me to record stereo tracks of an acoustic-guitar, bass guitar, a vocal, and a stereo drum track from either an external drum-machine source or from a drum-machine VST. I'm just trying to achieve a stereo-balanced final mix that has plenty of headroom free of clips and distortion when mastered to a finalized audio CD for playback in stereos and CD boomboxes.) Okay, so I've asked my dumb question, c'mon SLAP ME! lol

Been using it for ages. Not perfect but does the job. Have to really work to get the clicks out of a cut wave.

You can't . The number of tracks is limited. That's one of the inconvenient of this friendly software? besides the lack of MIDI integration. Too bad.
