GLS “Get Lost, Singer!” allows you to remove vocals from songs.
It works on the principle of “central channel subtraction”, where singer’s voice is usually located.
In addition, the plug-in is able to preserve bass and drums, which are also often located in the center of the stereo space and may suffer along with the voice.
GLS! is well suited for music with good stereo separation and a dry vocal, slightly worse for a wet vocal, and not suitable for mono tracks. However wet vocals can also be slightly muted by narrowing the stereo before processing. Do not expect magic. GLS! will remove not only the voice: some other musical instruments or sounds may also disappear or become corrupt, and the song loses stereo. But in some cases the result is quite acceptable.

Thx bro, useful
Thank you so much! Worked on first try. This is exactly what I was looking for. Mess with eq afterword, and you get a perfect vocal-less sample.
I've tried using it with virtual DJ and it works fine in real time.

It's a freat plugin just for free. Something to remember is that doesn't work on certain cases, because not all tracks have the voice on the central channel. And also, not always voices are 100% on the center, so it's normal to have some kind of low volume background voice.

FABULOUS
Can you also invert the use ? So leave out the music and keep the vocal (on tracks like in the demo)
Doesn't work. I can't get the effect to work while in this mode. I have no way to adjust anything. When I click apply, everything goes flatlines. Nothing works.
If everything goes flatlines it means you are trying to remove vocals from a mono track. This plugin does'nt work on mono audio file since it uses the phase-cancellation principles, mono track have both the left and the right track the same phase and no phases difference. This plugin works on vocals which are centered and not much panned or spread to the left or right.
Tried hard to install this plug-in in Audacity with no success. I can't get installation instruction anywhere. The downloaded GLS folder has 3 extra .sem files of which I don't know where to put them. It also contains and extra gls folder again. Very confusing! Help is needed please. Thanks.
Just copy the dll and the folder with the sem files just like it is in the zip in your Audacity vst plugin folder.
Installed but does not remove vocals at all in my case.

Doesn't remove the vocals. You can invert the phase and get similar effects.
