Transpire is a transient processor. It can enhance or dampen the initial attack and the sustain (body) of sound.

Transpire has been designed to work well with drums and percussion. It does not operate linearly, which means small transients are being affected relatively stronger than large transients. This is good for bringing up smaller details while not overloading on large hits. As a result, percussive tracks can sound more steady and controlled compared to traditional transient enhancers.
  • Attack enhance or dampen.
  • Sustain enhance or dampen.
  • Sensitivity controls the amount of details which Transpire can process. Small sensitivity will suit better for non-percussive material.
  • Output is hard clipped at -0.1dB.

I've had the JSFX version of this ever since I bought Reaper and it's just killer! I have Softube's Transient Shaper, SPL Transient Designer and Boz Digital Transgressor 2 and I still seem to always gravitate towards this one 9/10 times when I need a transient shaper. It's so idiot proof, sounds great and is light on the CPU. I still use Transgressor 2 if I'm mixing drums that were recorded really badly or just sounds bad, but in every other case I use Transpire!

This thing gets the job done better than my other paid plugins. Especially if you want a super aggressive attack.

Thanks for the info. I was wandering what exactly all knobs are doing. You recommend SPL Transient Designer Plus instead?

Awesome transient processor! I've been looking for a good plugin like this for a long time. Love the minimalist approach for the GUI, and it sounds really really good, especially for drums. Light on CPU, modern and re-sizable. Well done!

Stupidly, by default, the developers have put meaningless animated icons on the knobs rather than labelling them, which can get somewhat confusing during use. However, such labels can be seen by clicking the bottom area of the GUI. The big flaw with this plugin is that when the sustain control is turned up, metallic tones of the snare drum are amplified, which makes it sound like a disintegrated biscuit tin being attacked with a big stick. On toms, it just raises ugly low frequencies along with the transients themselves.

That's what you get if you pull up the sustain, is not the plugins fault.

well, They're not meaningless. If you understand basic compression you'll understand the signs.

Like Tavish said, compression is basically the key here not only that sensitivity (almost like a threshold) settings on the shaper is important as well, and if you dont like certain elements of it, throw an EQ on there and target resonance and bring those crappy fequencies down that should do the trick!

Thank you guys, I'll try it for vocals in fl since the transient processor from it has a cost and I don't have $$ to buy it now...:)

This is a really good Transient Processor. You can really tweak your Sounds till it sounds perfect to your ears. Note: It only needs a time to load in FL Studio so maybe you could improve the CPU-Perfomance a bit. All in one this is one of the "better" free VST's and you should keep it in your VST Collection.
