The Roberson Audio interpretation of the MiniMoog Model D synthesizer.
This synth is meant to be a model of the Minimoog Model D synthesizer, and a lot of time was invested to get it the way it sounds, including oscillator and filter character as well as modulation struction and response.
The synth was built with 48khz sample rate in mind, so it may not sound the same in other sample rates (generally though, higher will not have negative effects)
Even though a mod wheel is not present in the graphical portion of the synth, using the mod wheel on your keyboard still has the same effect as the real synth
There is a switch on the synth for an external input. In a real Minimoog, this could receive any audio input, but for this plug-in it has been hardwired as a feedback loop from the audio output of the synth. Be careful pushing the volume of it too high!
The synth is completely monophonic, with priority given to last note played. Realism has been sacrificed for playability, but I believe it is a good trade-off in this instance.

This sounds great. I have a novice question though - how do you connect this to a DAW such as ableton live?

Brilliant! The best free Moog VST I have found.
A. Thank you - B. Can I use this as a VST plugin in a DAW, or does it only work as a standalone program?

This VST has the closest sound of dense phat bass to the real Moog (from samples), comparing to other 4 top-rated Moog emulations here. Also it has better filter cutoff shape. I like it. The bass is really cool and is better than even my usual subtractive synthesizers.

Horrible compared to other free moogs like minimogue luxus.
Huh? It's the same code base. luxus just has options not found on the D

Excellent.

Like the real thing, Good Job!

This gets close to the sound of a Minimoog.

A brilliant sounding synth. Hopefully it will get a 64-bit version and polyphony in the future. That would be great.

Great synth no doubt! My only complaint is that it is not 64-bit.
This is a good emulation, not sure what the guy that said it was awful sounding was talking about.

Definitely my go-to Minimoog. It's basically perfect and, being a "purist", I love how it behaves just like the real thing, with very few modern amenities.

Be closer than original.

Accurate to a fault.

Really quite awful sounding.
Why would you download a Minimoog clone if you don't like the sound of a Minimoog?

Big thanx. Sound good

A really good synthesizer. I use it a lot and it is easy to learn. A good job.

This is actually a good minimoog clone. The only thing I don't like is how the modulation works. Not having a minimoog of my own I'm not sure if this is the way it's supposed to work or not but other than that it sounds real good. Good job on this one.
